Microsoft将在Windows Update中阻止第三方打印机驱动程序
微软在其说明中提到：
随着Windows 10 21H2的发布，Windows通过Microsoft IPP Class Driver通过网络和USB接口为符合Mopria的打印机设备提供收件箱支持。这消除了打印设备制造商提供自己的安装程序、驱动程序、实用程序等的需要。
此举被认为符合Mopria协议，并消除了第三方驱动程序损害系统的可能性。打印机支持应用程序将通过Windows应用商店自动分发和安装，以提供设备体验自定义。这将通过将自定义从Win32框架转移到UWP软件开发框架来提高可靠性和性能。打印机制造商不再需要开发或重建其软件，因为所有Windows版本和版本都支持新的Microsoft IPP类驱动程序。
微软还宣布，他们将终止对传统v3和v4 Windows打印机驱动程序的支持。打印机驱动程序的服务将在多年内结束——根据微软的说法，时间表如下图所示：
Even after ending the support to third-party printer drivers, Windows will continue to allow vendor-supplied printer drivers to be installed via separate installation packages. Microsoft will not disable the print features related to the legacy printer driver platform after ending the support for third-party printer drivers.
